Pam Barrie
Pam is a life member of TLAS and currently actively involved on the committee as Welfare Officer. A tutor with Tuggerah Lakes Community College for the past eleven years, I think it would be fair to say Pam has taught the art of watercolours and oils to half of the Central Coast! The college (TLCC) has two morning sessions a week with oils on Tuesday and watercolours on Friday.
"I also do private tutoring with both beginners and experienced artists. New students are always welcome.
As a teen I studied at East Sydney Technical College and later with the Fine Arts Open Foundation at the Ourimbah Campus of Newcastle University. My art education continues by attending workshops at every opportunity - a never ending study.
I'm happy to accept commissions to paint your treasured memories in watercolour or oil. All subjects, landscape, children, even your favourite pet."

Gail Brigden
Gail is one of our busiest members, following a career in fashion, singing and the arts, and now a marriage celebrant, she undoubtedly lives by the adage "life is meant to be lived". Spurred on by family, Gail took up art at the age of fifty and is a regular exhibitor in all of the TLAS exhibitions, including Fab Fakes - Gail is also the main organiser of the event.

Camelle Denny
Artist Camelle Denny is a contemporary oil painter, mostly self taught and has travelled for many years receiving plenty of inspiration and memories often depicted in her paintings.
Oil is her medium of choice “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder” and we all see and appreciate art differently, we come to art from all walks of life.
I believe “Every artist dips his brush in his own soul, and paints his own nature into his pictures” Henry Ward Beecher.
Camelle changes her technique and subjects often, from beloved pet portraits to mountains to seascapes with occasional paintings influenced by the “Northern Lights” as in her Energy of Light paintings.Painting from her heart, being inspired by the awesome power and beauty of nature’s stillness, yet always moving whilst trying to capture her elements as she sees and feels them. Art is a visual expression of emotions.Music is her companion as she paints and can sometimes determine the outcome!

"I’m a beginner when it comes to art, but, when I’m working in my studio (garage!), I feel a real sense of freedom……freedom to attempt painting on silk, where the colours have minds of their own and create ornate compositions which never cease to excite me". These are four examples of my paintings on silk.

I've been painting in several mediums since I picked up a brush a couple of years ago - suffice to say I'm still learning and always keen to learn the 'tricks' of the trade from the countless workshops I've attended :) I'm now mostly retired from 'my trade', that of a video camera person, (documentaries and corporate videos). Art, to me, is an extension of what I've been doing most of my life, albeit a little harder to master, but that's part of the fun!
Awards: I wish :)

Earl Hingston
Artist, designer, illustrator.
Began his career in advertising and corporate communication in New Zealand. In the mid 1960s Earl gained further experience in studios in Sydney before returning to NZ to open Wellington’s first graphic design consultancy. The largest commission was the designing of the symbol and related corporate elements for the New Zealand Post Office. Examples of his work appeared in magazines as well as a book featuring 18 designer/artists showing selected NZ work from the period 1940s to the 1970s. He was elected a Fellow of the prestigious Chartered Society of Designers, London. Earl returned to Sydney in 1978 working as a creative director and director of an advertising and communication agency. Since retiring he works in his favoured, challenging medium of watercolours as well as other media. Earl’s approach is not to copy a subject but to paint a recognisable impression of it with confident, lively calligraphic brush marks … to him vitality is more important than total accuracy. He conducts workshops and has written articles for “Australian Artist”. Earl is a Fellow of the Australian Society of Marine Artists.

Karen Jane Williams
My passion is to use art and craft to help people connect to each other and to their own creativity. I believe creativity, in lots of forms, has so many therapeutic benefits. Therefore I run weekly self-directed classes, a fortnightly creative cluster and participate in local art societies. My art practice includes painting (mostly using acrylic, pastel and mixed medium) working with textiles (to make soft sculptures and free-style weavings) and putting pen on paper. Full details are on my web page. Follow me on FaceBook to see what I’m currently doing.
